Join Paige Knapp and the PKS team as they make a meal that can be easily made for 2 people or scaled up for more. Our menu for this class takes its inspiration from British chef Yotam Ottolenghi, whose food is characterized by putting vegetables in the foreground and the use of Middle Eastern ingredients.
We'll show you how to make homemade labneh - a tangy, creamy yogurt cheese - and how veggie forward sheet pan meals are an ideal way to cook for 2. Paige has a Masters in Human Nutrition & Functional Medicine and will talk about the benefits of veggie forward eating.
Class Type: Demonstration with full meal and drinks of your choice (beer/wine/iced tea). Recipes will be provided,
Date & Time: Friday, March 31, 6-8PM
Seating Available: 6 counter seats

Cooking Class FAQ's

How much do they cost?
Our cooking classes and demonstrations range in price from around $35 to $90 per person, depending on the class, and what is included. Many classes feature a full meal's worth of food, plus extras, and some classes may include food or product to take home.
How many people will be attending?
Our classes and demonstrations roughly seat between 6 to 12 students, depending on the class. There is counter seating for in-close viewing, and cocktail tables for two available for separate ticket purchase, a little farther away from the action.
Ticket purchases are made here, through our website, on a first-come-first-serve basis, with the attendee(s) being able to specify whether they want to sit at the counter or at a couples table. We will make a seating chart for the class based on attendee's preferences.
What kind of classes do you offer?
We offer a variety of classes and demonstrations, including recipe walkthroughs, technique demonstrations, beer & wine tastings, etc.
Most of our classes are "demonstrations," in that the attendees, for the most part, are not actively participating in the cooking, but instead watching, learning, and participating in the eating (the best part). That being said, some classes feature more active participation (knife skills classes, for example).
Who teaches the classes?
Our instructors feature local chefs and culinary experts from around the area, as well as local amateur cooks who have recipes to share. If you are interested or know somebody who might be interested in teaching a cooking class/demonstration, shoot us an email.
When are your classes held?
Most of our classes are held in the evening, after the store closes, around 6 p.m. Weekday and weekend classes are both available. They are all in the roughly 1-2 hour range in length.
How often are the classes?
We plan for roughly one class or demonstration every week. We will take a break during the months of November, December and early January, when we are busy with holiday shopping and unable to hold classes.
Do I need to bring anything the night-of?
You don't need to bring anything other than a smile. As most of our classes begin after the store closes, just knock at the store's front door if it's locked, and we'll get you checked in. Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes before the class begins. You are free to shop around the store while you wait.
When is the class schedule posted?
Class schedules for the next month are posted on the 15th of each month prior.
What about kids?
We have a minimum age restriction of 14+ required for class registration; for some classes it may be higher, or an adult (aged 18+) may need to be in accompanying attendance.
For the safety and enjoyment of everyone, we ask that you do not bring infants or children to the class. All attendees must have a paid seat.
What about a private event?
We do plan to eventually offer options for customers to make reservations for private events/dinners like birthday parties or other celebrations and get-togethers. We will make an announcement when we launch this service.
How does cancellation work?
Due to planning, prep costs, and food purchases made in advance of the class, cooking classes are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your registration to another guest of your choice.
If Prairie Kitchen Store cancels a class, you will receive a full refund and be notified as soon as possible.
Event Photography Notice
There will be event photography during our classes that may be used for promotional purposes. Please let us know if you do not wish to be photographed.
